The current study aimed to identify the impact of the technology strategy on
strategic performance through the mediating role of the quality of oil products in the
South Refineries Company in Basra Governorate, and based on a major problem
diagnosed by several questions represented in the extent of awareness of the
mediating influence relationship between the variables in practice and in the field,
and in order to root the philosophical foundations The study adopted a model of
)Hampson & Tatum, 1997) and (Zahra & Bogner, 1999) to measure the technology
strategy, which consists of five dimensions (technology leadership, technology
sources, technology scope, depth of technology strategy, organizational
appropriateness. And the model of )Grigoroudis, et al., 2012) to measure strategic
performance, which included four dimensions (the financial perspective, the
customers’ perspective, the internal operations perspective, and the growth
perspective). While the quality of petroleum products was measured by )Khoironi et
al., 2018 model), which includes six dimensions performance, features,
compatibility, reliability, durability, perceived quality.
The current study was based on the cognitive intervention approach and the
descriptive analytical approach mainly to present the study information, analyze and
interpret it. The questionnaire was used as a basic tool for collecting data and
information for the study as well as company reports and some contacts with
individuals from the study community who were represented by a group of leaders
of the South Oil Refineries Company, while From the side of statistical analysis and
treatment, the current study was based on the exploratory factor analysis as basic
structural tests for the validity of the approved standards. Several conclusions were
reached through the study, the most important of which was the company’s interest
in the study community to apply the dimensions of the quality of field oil products,
which would mediate or enhance the impact of the strategy Technology in strategic
performance, so that the presence of the quality of oil products in the field, in
addition to the company’s management adopting the dimensions of the technology
strategy, would improve the level of strategic performance better than if the senior
management of the company in question adopted the technology strategy without
the quality of oil products, and this has resulted in this Studying a set of
recommendations, the most important of which are necessary The senior
management of the South Refineries Company attaches the importance of
formulating the technology strategy in a clear and accurate manner, in addition to
inviting the company’s managements, the study community, to pay more attention
to the quality of petroleum products, because of this significant role in enhancing
strategic performance.
