The research sought to determine the effect of information systems on improving the performance of workers for a sample of employees in the local administration / Holy Karbala Governorate, by measuring the extent of the impact and testing the relationship between information systems and their role in improving the performance of workers, and tried to find answers to the following main questions: Is There is a clear perception of the local administration / the holy province of Karbala about the concept of information systems and improving the performance of employees? And the extent of the impact of the information systems adopted by the organization in improving the performance of employees? To answer the above questions and to achieve the goal of the research, the descriptive analytical approach and the field study were adopted, and a hypothetical scheme for the study was designed which reflected the nature of the relationship and influence between information systems in its dimensions and improving the performance of workers in its dimensions, the research is based on two main hypotheses, Which were tested by using a set of statistical methods (arithmetic mean, agreement percentage, standard deviation, and measurement of correlation and impact coefficients) to process the data obtained through the responses of individuals in the organization to the questionnaire form using the statistical program V22 (SPSS), as it was distributed (31) A questionnaire on an intentional sample made up of working individuals (computer engineers, programmers, and information system workers from various specializations). The research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are:
The existence of a correlation and a moral influence between information systems in improving the performance of employees in the researched organization (local administration / Karbala governorate). The software approved by the organization is characterized by its simplicity and the possibility of being used by all workers, with the organization’s lack of internationally designed software, especially in the field of providing services, And the organization’s approved databases lack high-level security systems. And based on the conclusions reached by the study, he suggested a set of points that are consistent with the conclusions that have been reached, the most important of which are:The necessity for the organization to show more interest in the teams specialized in maintaining and updating information systems resources such as analysts, system designers, programmers and data security specialists, with intensifying training programs to improve and develop the skills of workers in the field of information systems, and to raise the possibility of the organization adopting software that enables it to be compatible with the network environment for the purpose Sharing information between the various departments in the organization, and increasing the trend towards using programs with an internationally approved design, especially in the field of service provision.Key words: information systems, employee performance improvement.
