Abstract
The issue of competitiveness has become one of the important topics in light of the current developments and challenges that the world is witnessing, such as the liberation of global trade restrictions and openness. The revolutionary information and scientific development helped in this, and to keep pace with these transformations, most countries adopted many policies and strategies to enhance their economic competitiveness, at the regional and international levels, in order to ensure an active role for themselves in the global economy, among these policies (monetary and financial policies), so this thesis tries Identifying the role of monetary and fiscal policies in enhancing international competitiveness, with a focus on analyzing the role of monetary policy variables (money supply, interest rate, exchange rate) and fiscal policy variables (public spending, taxes), and competitiveness indicators such as (global competitiveness index) are used and (Arab Economies Competitiveness Index) to express the competitiveness of the selected countries.
The main problem revolves around the possibility that the monetary and fiscal policies, through their tools, play the required role in enhancing the international competitiveness of three countries (China, Algeria and Iraq), and on the assumption that the variables of the two policies have a role in enhancing the international competitiveness. The inductive methodology of the economic reality was used by analyzing the data and statistics available through the historical stages, and the deductive methodology was adopted by studying international experiences and deducing their implications in order to prove the scientific facts desired from the study. The researcher concluded that the monetary and fiscal policies have an effective role in the international competitiveness of China, while in the two Arab countries, the monetary and fiscal policies have not played a tangible role in enhancing their competitiveness between regionally and internationally. From (Algeria and Iraq) to have a major role in enhancing competitiveness and trying to benefit from the successful Chinese experience.
