This research dealt with the topic of total quality management and its impact on improving the performance of higher education institutions (College of Administration and Economics / University of Holy Karbala). The research aims to shed light on the concept of total quality management and the possibility of its application in the education sector and the importance of the research in that it addresses the topic of total quality management in the educational sector Its impact on improving performance and the research problem is the lack of seriousness of university senior administration In supporting the implementation of comprehensive quality management standards in Focusing on the formal aspects more than the substantive aspects of the procedures for implementing the university quality assurance system, the research concluded its problem with the following question: – Is it possible to develop an implementable model for the quality assurance system in higher education institutions? And the extent of its impact on improving the performance of university human resources?
The samples were concentrated from the University of Karbala / College of Administration and Economics, where the research provided a theoretical framework for the two research variables based on what the researcher presented in this field and a practical analytical framework for the opinions of the sample,
which included a group of faculty members working in the College of Administration and Economics as well as an elite group of master’s and bachelor’s students, as An applied field for the current study, which includes (96) respondents. The questionnaire was also used as a basic measurement tool for collecting data, and a number of statistical programs (Spss) and Excel were used, and some statistical methods were used, such as the reliability scale test, Cronbach’s alpha, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, arithmetic mean, simple linear correlation coefficient to measure the relationship between variables, simple regression analysis, coefficient of determination, and F test. The most important of the conclusions was the existence of a significant relationship between total quality management and performance improvement, meaning that whenever the college adopts total quality management practices, its work is directed towards senior management’s commitment to applying the principles of total quality management and paying attention to strategic planning to achieve a competitive advantage and the teamwork of the human resource among the teaching staff. Students consider it necessary to focus on the customer, enhance their satisfaction, manage the process correctly, and update the university information base and to support employees, and in light of the conclusions reached, a set of recommendations have been reached,the most important of which is the necessity of strengthening comprehensive quality management practices in the college and working to strengthen these practices and focusing on analyzing the internal and external environment of the college in its various departments with the aim of identifying the most important changes and challenges facing the college now and in the future. the future.
