Abstract
This study seeks to determine the impact of authoritarian leadership on job insecurity. In order to achieve this, three dimensions of authoritarian leadership (lack of communication, narcissism, central control, and strict supervision) were adopted as explanatory variables, while job insecurity was expressed as a responsive variable in the dimensions (perceived job threat, and inability to confront threats). The research problem was launched from the reality of Al-Furat Chemical Industries Company in Babylon, which did not occupy a position within the classification of prestigious global or regional industrial companies, although its management is trying hard to enhance its distinguished performance in order to reach the highest levels of competition with other companies. A main question was formulated (What is the size and direction of the impact of authoritarian leadership on job insecurity)
The research was conducted at Al-Furat Chemical Industries Company in Babylon, as the necessary information for the field aspect was obtained through the questionnaire prepared for this purpose, as the number of sample members reached (305) employees at various job levels. Several measurement tools were used in the practical aspect, including confirmatory factor analysis, statistical description equations such as arithmetic mean and standard deviation, and hypothesis testing equations such as correlation and structural modeling equation. The study reached a set of results that can be summarized as the existence of a correlation and a direct effect of authoritarian leadership on job insecurity, and the most important conclusion was the realization of a certain percentage of authoritarian leadership behaviors in Al-Furat Chemical Industries Company in Babylon and its reflection on the emergence of feelings of job insecurity among employees.
