The College of Administration and Economics organized a scientific trip for its students to the Iraqi Red Crescent Society – Karbala Branch as part of its efforts to enhance students’ practical experience and bridge the gap between academic study and real-world applications.

The visit was supervised by Dr. Hussein Ali Abdullah, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Turki, who accompanied the students and oversaw the implementation of the trip’s program.

Overview of the Visit

The students were given a guided tour of the Red Crescent’s headquarters, where representatives provided a detailed presentation on the organization’s mission, key activities, and the humanitarian services it offers, including:

  • Emergency relief and humanitarian aid,
  • Healthcare and first aid services,
  • Support for vulnerable communities.

Additionally, the crucial role of the Red Crescent during major religious events in Karbala was highlighted, particularly in providing medical assistance and volunteer services to pilgrims.

Student Engagement and Interaction

The students showed great enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions and posing questions about volunteer opportunities and the mechanisms of humanitarian work within the organization. The Red Crescent administration expressed its willingness to welcome more students in the future to further educate them about the significance of humanitarian efforts in supporting society.

Closing Remarks

At the end of the visit, Dr. Hussein Ali Abdullah extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Red Crescent administration for their warm hospitality.
