The College of Administration and Economics – Department of Economics Celebrates the Birth Anniversaries of the Muhammadan Moons

Under the esteemed patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Daami and the Head of the Department of Economics, the Department of Economics organized a blessed celebration in honor of the birth anniversaries of the Muhammadan Moons. This occasion commemorates the births of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him).

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, delivered by one of the students, followed by the attendees standing for the Iraqi national anthem. Subsequently, the Dean of the College delivered a speech in which he welcomed the audience and emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from the noble values of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their role in promoting principles of justice and reform within society. He also praised the students’ contributions in reinforcing ethical and scholarly values inspired by their virtuous legacy.

The event featured a religious lecture presented by one of the faculty members, discussing the lessons derived from the lives of the Muhammadan Moons and their influence on individual and societal development. The celebration was further enriched by a distinguished performance by the Husseini reciter, Mulla Ahmed Shaker Al-Karbalaei, who captivated the audience with eloquent elegiac poetry, filling the hall with a spiritually uplifting atmosphere of joy and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Additionally, the ceremony included the distribution of honorary awards to selected students and faculty members in recognition of their outstanding contributions to academic and cultural activities. Commemorative gifts were also presented to distinguished guests.

At the conclusion of the event, attendees expressed their appreciation for this auspicious gathering, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fostering religious and cultural awareness among students and reinforcing the noble values advocated by the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
