Under the esteemed patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini, and under the direct supervision of Mr. Mohsen Nahidh Al-Masoudi, Head of the College’s Sports Activities Unit, the curtain has fallen on the fourth edition of the late Professor Ali Abdul-Kadhim (may he rest in peace) Futsal Championship for college students, amid an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and fair competition.

The final match took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM on the dormitory stadium, where the third-year Accounting Department team faced off against the fourth-year Business Administration Department team in a thrilling and competitive encounter. The match witnessed a remarkable turnout of students and faculty members, who added a special touch with their continuous cheers and enthusiastic support.

The game kicked off at a high tempo, with the Business Administration team dominating the early minutes in an attempt to score an early goal. However, the Accounting team’s defense stood firm and later launched a well-organized attack that resulted in the opening goal, igniting a wave of joy among their supporters. As the second half began, the Accounting team maintained its strong performance and tightened its grip on the game, scoring two consecutive goals thanks to the players’ harmony and effective finishing. In the final minutes, the Business Administration team managed to score a consolation goal, but the referee’s final whistle confirmed the Accounting team’s victory with a score of 3-1, crowning them as well-deserved champions of the tournament.

Following the match, an award ceremony was held in the presence of the Dean, who delivered a speech expressing his pride in both teams for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of sports in refining students’ skills and fostering teamwork. He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and participants, commending their efforts in making the tournament a success.

The ceremony included the distribution of trophies and medals to the participating teams. The Accounting team received the championship trophy and gold medals amid resounding applause, while the Business Administration team was awarded silver medals in recognition of their commendable performance. Additionally, awards were presented to the best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer of the tournament as an incentive for athletic excellence.
