The College of Administration and Economics organized a large-scale tree planting campaign in celebration of Iraqi Environment Day, which falls on January 15th, under the patronage of Dean Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini. The campaign aims to raise environmental awareness and promote a culture of environmental conservation among students, faculty, and staff.
A large number of students, faculty members, and college staff participated in the event, planting hundreds of diverse trees throughout the campus and its surroundings, with the goal of improving the environmental landscape and increasing green spaces. Dr. Al-Husseini, in his opening speech, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in enhancing environmental awareness and community responsibility, highlighting the college’s dedication to activities that contribute to community service and environmental protection.
The Dean also mentioned that the campaign is part of a series of environmental and awareness programs the college plans to implement throughout the year, stressing the importance of teamwork and collaboration between students and the academic staff in the success of such events.
For their part, the participating students expressed their happiness in being part of the initiative, noting the significant role tree planting campaigns play in improving air quality, reducing pollution, and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the campus.
