The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala participated in a specialized training course titled “Quality Assurance in Education According to the Bologna Process.” The course was attended by a distinguished group of representatives from Iraqi universities and members of the Bologna Process Quality Assurance Council.
Training Course Details
The course featured the participation of several academics and experts in the field of quality assurance. Professor Dr. Sabah Ismail Yahya, a member of the Bologna Process Quality Assurance Council, was one of the main lecturers. He delivered a series of lectures and discussions on the latest mechanisms and standards for implementing the Bologna Process in Iraqi educational institutions.
Additionally, the course included representatives from Koya University – Erbil. Among the participants from the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala were:
- Ms. Zainab Abdul Hussein Hassan – Head of the Quality Assurance Division.
- Eng. Qusay Dhafer Salman – Liaison Member with the Quality Assurance Division.
Course Objectives
The training course focused on several key areas, including:
✅ Understanding the Bologna Process and its role in improving higher education quality.
✅ Implementing and ensuring quality assurance standards in educational institutions.
✅ Discussing academic performance evaluation mechanisms based on international standards.
✅ Identifying the challenges of implementing the system in Iraqi universities and strategies to address them.
Significance of Participation
Participants emphasized the importance of this course in deepening their understanding of the Bologna Process, which is one of the modern systems that Iraqi universities aim to adopt to ensure education quality and achieve international accreditation standards. They also highlighted the valuable insights gained from the expert-led lectures and discussions.
At the end of the course, participation certificates were distributed, and the necessity of continuing such events was emphasized to enhance the efficiency of academic and administrative staff in applying quality education standards.
