Dr. Safaa Abdul Ali Abdulameer and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Turki Abdulabbas, faculty members at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, have published a research paper titled “Enhancing Organizational Strategy in Reverse Supply Chains: The Mediating Effects of Relationships and Flexibility” in the Global Journal of Management and Accounting, which is indexed in Scopus.
The study addresses operational challenges in reverse supply chains, such as efficient truck routing, costly manual disassembly processes, and the lack of appropriate optimization models. The researchers applied Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the relationship between supply chain relationships, supply chain agility, and their impact on reverse supply chain strategy.
The findings indicate that strengthening relationships among various actors in the reverse supply chain and increasing its flexibility significantly enhance operational efficiency and cost reduction. This, in turn, positively contributes to the sustainability of logistics operations and recycling processes.
