College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala Organizes a Seminar Entitled“The Role of Educated Women in Social and Economic Development”

The Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Administration and Economics / Department of Accounting at the University of Karbala organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Educated Women in Social and Economic Development” on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, with the attendance of a group of faculty members and students.

The seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rajaa Jabir Abbas, who highlighted the importance of empowering women academically and intellectually, considering it a fundamental pillar for strengthening their active participation in development and building a more advanced and stable society.

The lecturer discussed the role of education in enhancing women’s social and economic participation, explaining its impact on developing their capabilities, increasing their opportunities in the labor market, and enabling them to contribute to supporting families, as well as developing institutions and community initiatives.

The seminar also included discussions of several perspectives and practical experiences that demonstrate the impact of education on strengthening women’s independence, their decision-making abilities, and their participation in sustainable development.

The session concluded with an open discussion in which the lecturer answered attendees’ questions amid positive interaction reflecting the importance of the topic. The Women’s Affairs Unit expressed its gratitude to the researcher for her valuable efforts in enriching community awareness regarding women’s empowerment.
