University of Karbala Enters Top 100 Arab Universities in the 2025 ARU Rankings

The University of Karbala has officially entered the list of the Top 100 Arab Universities, according to the 2025 Arab Universities Rankings (ARU), marking a significant achievement in its academic journey.

The university ranked 99th among Arab universities, placing it in the golden category of Arab universities for the first time. It also secured 11th place among Iraqi public and private universities, and 9th place among Iraqi public universities.

The ranking report highlighted the university’s excellence in several indicators, including scientific research, education, and learning, which contributed to its competitive and advanced position among the region’s established public universities.

This achievement reflects the organized efforts of the university administration, enabling it to attain a prominent regional and Arab position, opening doors for academic partnerships, attracting talent, and accelerating institutional accreditation for its academic departments.

Furthermore, this distinction aligns with the continuous development plans led by the University President, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid, aimed at enhancing university performance and educational quality, and moving decisively toward higher positions in regional and international rankings, in line with the university’s vision and academic mission.
