The Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Participates in Receiving the Delegation from the University of Isfahan to Discuss Academic Cooperation and Organize a Joint International Conference

Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, participated in welcoming an official delegation from the University of Isfahan, headed by Professor Dr. Asghar Montazer Al-Qaem. The reception was also attended by the University’s Vice President for Scientific Affairs and a number of deans from other colleges.

This visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen scientific and cultural cooperation between the University of Karbala and the University of Isfahan. During the meeting, the two sides discussed avenues of collaboration in organizing the international conference entitled “The Construction, Reconstruction, and Development of Holy Shrines Throughout History,” which is scheduled to be held in the city of Isfahan on October 21, 2025, with the participation of a distinguished group of researchers and academics from universities inside and outside Iran.

The discussions also covered the logistical and academic preparations for the conference, in addition to exploring the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities aimed at expanding academic cooperation. The main topics of the proposed memorandum include:

  • Visiting Professor Program: To enhance academic exchange and the sharing of expertise between the two institutions.
  • Joint Supervision of Graduate Theses: To support scientific research and foster academic collaboration.
  • Joint Book Fair: To promote cultural and intellectual exchange between the two universities.

This initiative reflects the University of Karbala’s commitment—represented by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics—to fostering international academic cooperation and activating partnerships that contribute to the advancement of scientific research and the preservation of Islamic heritage, history, and architecture.
