As part of its ongoing scientific activities aimed at developing the research skills of its members, the Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a specialized training course titled “Enhancing Research Visibility and Managing Citations via Google Scholar and ResearchGate”, held from February 24 to February 26, 2026.
The course targeted faculty members, staff, and researchers of the Department of Accounting, aiming to highlight the importance of academic digital presence on global platforms and its impact on improving the ranking of academic institutions.
The course was delivered by:

- Lecturer Dr. Bushra Jaber Mohammed
- Lecturer Dr. Jenan Abdul Khaji
The course covered a variety of scientific and technical topics, including:
Google Scholar Module:
An explanation of how to create and manage academic profiles, and how to accurately document citations to enhance the researcher’s H-index.
ResearchGate Module:
Guidance on building a global academic network and uploading research papers to increase visibility and engagement with researchers from international universities.
Research Identity Management:
Emphasizing the importance of unifying the researcher’s name and academic affiliation to ensure publication rights and improve the institution’s research visibility.
The course witnessed significant interaction from participants through scientific discussions and practical applications on the mentioned platforms. It concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continuing such initiatives to keep pace with technological advancements in global scientific research.
