As part of its ongoing efforts to link accounting and financial concepts with leadership skills, the Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a specialized training course titled “Financial Indicators as a Tool for Forecasting the Future and Supporting Leadership Decision-Making,” held from March 15 to March 19, 2026.
The course targeted undergraduate students, aiming to equip them with the analytical skills needed to transform financial data and figures into strategic insights that help leaders make sound, evidence-based decisions.
The course was delivered by a group of specialized academics:

- Assistant Lecturer Hind Abdulzahra Neama
Over five days, the course covered several vital and advanced topics, including:
Understanding Financial Indicators: How to extract and analyze key financial ratios (profitability, liquidity, and leverage) and interpret their significance in evaluating organizational performance.
Financial Forecasting: Using historical data and current indicators to predict future trends and identify potential opportunities and risks.
Leadership Decision-Making: Linking financial analysis with leadership capabilities, and how successful leaders rely on financial indicators to guide organizations toward growth and sustainability.
Practical Applications: تدريب الطلبة على حالات دراسية واقعية (training students on real case studies) of organizations that successfully overcame crises or achieved growth through effective management of their financial indicators.
During the sessions, the lecturers emphasized that the goal of the course is to prepare a generation of graduates who go beyond technical accounting roles, possessing a “leadership mindset” capable of interpreting what lies behind the numbers and actively contributing to shaping high-level organizational policies.
The course witnessed noticeable engagement from students, who showed great interest in how to apply their academic specializations in leadership roles, enhancing their competitiveness in the future job market.
