Abstract

The research aims to analyse the contribution of shadow banking represented by (the Iraqi Housing Fund loans) to increasing the volume of electronic payment cards, as the growth rates of loans granted to all branches were analysed as well as the growth rates of the volume of electronic payment cards in Iraq for the period from 2017-2021 according to what is From data, many financial and statistical methods were used, and Iraq was chosen as a country for research, because shadow banking has contributed to the development of the financial and economic aspect significantly. The research made a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to increase people’s awareness of the importance of using electronic payment methods through banks establishing awareness sections within their branches because of their great impact in motivating customers to use modern means of payment.
