Knowledge management and its impact on improving strategic performance

The study aims to highlight on the variable of knowledge management and its impact on improving strategic performance through the application of the study to the community of workers in the people (projects, planning, follow-up, and budgets) in the directorates (Al-Hayy, Al-Muwaffia, Badra, Numaniyah, Zubaidi, Al-Suwaira, Al-Aziziyah) affiliated to the Directorate of Municipalities Wasit, and in order to achieve this, the study adopted the analytical approach, the study sample included all members of the study community, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection
The questionnaires were distributed to all members of the study community, and the number of valid questionnaires for analysis was (74), and the questionnaire was designed with ready-made standards, where the essential processes of knowledge management were adopted (dimension knowledge generation, dimension knowledge storage, dimension knowledge dissemination, dimension knowledge application), the dimensions of strategic performance (the financial dimension, the customers dimension, the internal operations dimension, and the learning and growth dimension) were adopted, with five questions for each dimension of knowledge management or strategic performance.
The researcher used to analyze the questionnaire data a set of statistical methods such as: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Cronbach Alpha coefficient, simple regression method, and using the statistical program SPSS, and after analysis and testing hypotheses, the study reached a set of conclusions, the most important conclusion tha t the study ( the organization under the study) adopts knowledge management with its dimensions (knowledge generation, knowledge dissemination, knowledge storage and knowledge application) in its operations for the purpose of improving its strategic performance, which was clear through the results of the questionnaire data in the dimensions of strategic performance (financial dimension, customer dimension, internal operations, learning and growth dimension).
The recommendations were the necessity for the organization under the study to invest the nature of the relationship, the positive correlation between knowledge management processes and strategic performance to improve the performance of the organization under the study, and focus on spreading the culture of change among workers to generate knowledge by opening up to the external environment of the organization and acquiring the knowledge and skills required to implement its work with all quality and accuracy.
