Organizational improvisation and its impact on crisis management

Abstract

  The most prominent goals and objectives sought by this study are to know the effect of organizational improvisation practiced by the police of Karbala Governorate through its dimensions (intuition, Bricolage, adaptation, learning, creativity, innovation ) in crisis management with its dimensions (discovering early warning signals, preparedness and prevention, Damage Control and Containment, Business Recovery, evaluation and review) that confront the leadership of Karbala Police, and through this it becomes clear the importance of the study. The main problem of the study was presented by raising a set of questions centered on whether there is a correlation and impact relationship between the independent variable (organizational improvisation with its dimensions) and the dependent variable (crisis management with its dimensions) accordingly a hypothetical model was designed from which the premise of the first major study and the hypothesis of the second main study came from and from them Many of the hypotheses of the sub-study branched, where a questionnaire was adopted with the aim of collecting information and the questionnaire had indications of acceptable truth and stability. The sample of the study consisted of (220) officers (from the rank of major and above) working in the police leadership of Karbala governorate who were chosen in a simple random sample from a community, size (497). The researcher used a set of statistical tools in analyzing and processing data. The researcher also examined the hypotheses emerging from the study using the ready statistical program, which is (SPSS V.23) and (AMOS V.23) through which a set of conclusions were reached, including that the dimensions of organizational improvisation affect In the efficiency and effectiveness of crisis management, that organizational improvisation is more closely related to the stages of the crisis that require rapid action and immediate decisions to reduce the crisis. In the light of the results, the study produced a set of recommendations, among them, the organization in question should pay pay attention to the female component in assigning leadership positions and y-made programs and plans for crisis management to be reviewed and developed continuously.
