Abstract
This study aims to study the impact of electronic payment methods on reducing money laundering. This study analyzes the relationship between the use of electronic payment and the reduction of financial crimes, highlighting the role of modern banking systems in enhancing financial security and combating illegal activities. Using a descriptive and analytical approach, the study’s hypothesis, “There is no statistically significant relationship between electronic payment and the reduction of money laundering,” will be tested. Financial and statistical data will be analyzed to assess the effectiveness of electronic payment systems in combating money laundering.
The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between electronic payment methods and the reduction of money laundering. The study also recommended conducting an ongoing study to identify the risks associated with electronic payment methods, better understand the money laundering risks associated with new electronic payment methods, and develop the necessary measures and procedures to mitigate any potential risks. It will also conduct periodic reviews whenever necessary to implement customer care procedures and make the necessary amendments to them to include appropriate preventive measures to address the misuse of these tools in illicit financial transactions.
