The College of Business and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course entitled “The Role of the Financial Manager in Formulating the Strategy” for the period from 16 to 18 November 2025, with the participation of a number of faculty employees, as part of a series of development courses aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the administrative and financial staff.
The course aimed to clarify the vital role played by the CFO in the formulation of strategic policies for organizations, and to show how he contributes to guiding financial decisions in a way that supports the achievement of long-term goals and enhances the efficiency of the use of resources.

The concept of strategy and its importance in the contemporary work environment.
The role of the CFO in strategic planning and financial performance evaluation.
Analyze the internal and external environment and its impact on financial decisions.

The role of financial data in supporting decision-making, charting and future directions of the organization.
Practical applications on the integration of financial analysis into the strategic plans of organizations.
The course witnessed a positive interaction from the participants, who praised the importance and realism of the topic, and the presentation style, which relied on discussing realistic examples from the work environment within educational and economic institutions.
This course comes as part of the college’s drive to enable its cadres to acquire advanced administrative and financial skills, in a way that contributes to raising the level of institutional performance and achieving total quality requirements.
