Both Prof. Amir Ali Khalil Al-Mousawi and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Faez Hassan Al-Zubaie, faculty members in the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala, participated as members of the defense committee for the PhD dissertation submitted by postgraduate student Ahmed Duer Al-Halfi at the University of Basrah, on Monday, December 11, 2025.
The dissertation was titled:
“The Impact of Green Banking on Financial Sustainability in Selected Countries with Reference to Iraq”
The dissertation examines the role of green banking as one of the modern trends in the financial sector and analyzes its impact on enhancing financial sustainability in several countries, with a detailed study of the Iraqi context, supporting the directions of green finance and sustainable development.
The participation of the faculty members from the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala / Department of Financial and Banking Sciences comes as part of the college’s efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation among Iraqi universities and contribute to advancing specialized research in contemporary financial and banking issues.
The defense committee commended the scientific effort put into the dissertation and the analytical and practical insights it presented, which could contribute to improving banking practices in Iraq. They also wished the researcher continued success in his academic journey.
