As part of its ongoing efforts to promote ethical values and instill the principles of integrity and transparency among its students, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a scientific course titled:
“Integrity and Transparency in Decision-Making: From the Classroom to the Workplace”, held from January 4 to 7, 2026, with the participation of a select group of the college’s instructors.
The course lectures were delivered by:
- Assistant Professor Yasser Mahmoud Fahd
- Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Sabeih Lafta
- Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Fadel Attiya
The course targeted undergraduate students and aimed to raise their awareness of the importance of integrity and transparency across administrative and economic work, linking the theoretical concepts taught in the classroom with practical applications required in the labor market.
Key topics covered in the course included:
- The concept of integrity and transparency and their impact on decision-making quality.
- Ethical and legal dimensions of administrative and economic decisions.
- The role of integrity in combating corruption and enhancing institutional trust.
- Practical examples and case studies from contemporary work environments.
- Skills for sound decision-making under professional challenges.
The course witnessed active participation from students through discussions and questions, which contributed to deepening understanding, reinforcing key concepts, and enhancing critical thinking and professional responsibility skills.
At the conclusion of the course, organizers emphasized that such scientific activities help prepare students with strong professional and ethical awareness, enabling them to integrate into the workforce with competence and integrity, in line with the University of Karbala’s mission to serve society and develop human capital.
