The Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, participated in the meeting of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Administration and Economics in Iraqi universities, which was hosted by the University of Basra. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of college deans and their representatives from various public and private universities.
The meeting addressed several important academic and administrative topics, foremost among them the preparations for the standardized (evaluative) examination for the Departments of Accounting and Business Administration, and the mechanisms for organizing examination centers. Discussions also focused on ways to develop curricula in line with quality standards and academic accreditation requirements.
In addition, the meeting included deliberations on requests to establish new academic departments and to open postgraduate programs in some colleges. It also covered mechanisms to enhance scientific cooperation among universities and exchange expertise in a way that contributes to advancing the academic level and achieving solid educational outcomes that meet labor market needs.
The Dean’s participation in this meeting reflects the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala’s commitment to positive engagement with ministerial and specialized committees, and to playing an active role in shaping academic policies that contribute to the development of higher education in Iraq.
