The Department of Statistics at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala organized a training course entitled “Validity and Reliability Tests for Scientific Research Instruments”, as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance research and statistical skills among academic staff and postgraduate students.
The course was delivered by a distinguished group of female faculty members specializing in the field:
- Professor Dr. Shurooq Abdul Ridha Saeed
- Assistant Professor Dr. Enas Abdul Hafidh Mohammed
- Assistant Professor Dr. Sada Fayed Mohammed
The course focused on the importance of validity and reliability as essential tools in measuring research variables and the necessity of ensuring the accuracy and credibility of measurement instruments to guarantee the scientific soundness of research results. It included detailed explanations of statistical methods used to verify validity and reliability, such as face validity, construct validity, and content validity, in addition to reliability coefficients using Cronbach’s Alpha test, among other modern techniques.
The course witnessed active participation from attendees, including faculty members and postgraduate students from various disciplines. Many questions and scientific discussions were raised, enriching the knowledge content of the session.
This event is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Department of Statistics at the college, aimed at raising academic standards and enhancing the quality of scientific research both within the university and beyond.
