Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Participates in the Second Sustainable Development Conference

The Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, participated in the activities of the Second Sustainable Development Conference, which was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Hamida Aidan Salman.

The participation of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics came within the framework of scientific and academic cooperation between the University of Karbala and Al-Ameed Private University. The conference discussed several themes aimed at promoting the concepts of sustainable development in educational institutions and highlighting the role of universities in achieving sustainable development goals at the economic, social, and environmental levels.

The conference was held under the slogan:
“Sustainable Universities… Our Future Is Bright”

It took place on Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Grand Hall at the Presidency of the University of Karbala, with the attendance of a number of academic leaders, professors, and researchers from Iraqi universities.

During his participation, Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini emphasized the importance of activating scientific partnerships between universities and the role of Colleges of Administration and Economics in supporting sustainable development pathways through scientific research, capacity building, and linking educational outcomes with labor market needs and development requirements.

This participation reflects the College of Administration and Economics’ commitment at the University of Karbala to academic openness and active contribution to scientific conferences that support the development of higher education and promote sustainability concepts within society.
