With the aim of equipping students with the essential linguistic tools required for their future professional careers, the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a specialized educational course titled “Arabic Language Skills in Administrative Writing”, held from February 8 to February 10, 2026.
The course targeted undergraduate students in the department and focused on developing proper linguistic formulation skills for official correspondence. The sessions were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Suad Jubair Sultan.
The course program included several key topics, such as:
Drafting Official Documents:
The fundamental rules for writing administrative memos and reports in a precise and clear professional style.
Language Accuracy:
Highlighting common linguistic and spelling errors in administrative writing and how to avoid them to ensure clarity of meaning.
Administrative Style:
Training on the use of appropriate terminology and vocabulary suited to institutional work, while considering organizational hierarchy and administrative structure.
During the sessions, the lecturer emphasized that mastering Arabic language skills is not merely an academic requirement, but a fundamental pillar for the success of any employee or manager in the workplace. Effective administrative writing reflects the intellectual and organizational sophistication of an institution.
The course witnessed notable attendance and engagement from students, who showed strong interest in improving their formal writing skills, contributing to better preparation for the job market after graduation.
