The Iraqi economy is between two crises of reality and possible solutions

Abstract

The Iraqi economy witnessed during the six years ago 2014-2020 severe economic turmoil, and two crises, The first one called a crisis or double shock as a result of the ISIS occupation of large areas of Iraq in synchronized with a severe drop in oil prices, and when the Iraqi economy recovered gradually from the crisis until fell once again in a strong triple crisis (political – health – economic), and these crises were reflected in the overall activities and sectors of the economy, so economic growth rates declined, unemployment rates increased, poverty levels increased, debts rose to high levels, the country’s public budget deficit increased, and the monetary policy encountered a great pressure and the reserves have decreased dramatically in order to maintain financial and monetary stability, that resulted of the drop oil prices and then decline in the country’s financial revenues.
