Abstract

The study aims to know the impact of exchange rate changes on the financial performance indicators of banks, the most important of which is (profitability index and liquidity index) for a sample of Iraqi commercial banks during the extended period (2011-2020), where the study community consists of ten commercial banks (Iraq, Basra, investment, credit). Ashur, Al-Tijari, Gulf, Al-Mansour, Mosul, Babylon), where the study used the descriptive analytical and standard approach to know the impact of exchange rate changes on some financial performance indicators. Where the results of the analysis of the composite growth of indicators compared to the growth of exchange rates showed an inverse relationship between exchange rates and profitability, meaning that the rise in the exchange rate led to a decrease in the profitability of the banks of the study sample, in addition to a decrease in the assets of banks as well as capital, and this led to a decrease in liquidity for most banks in the study sample as the results showed Financial analysis Banks are greatly affected by the security and political situation of the country more than they are affected by the economic situation, and this indicates the weak relationship between financial institutions and the economic situation of the country. the product .
