 As a result of the effectiveness of central banks and the importance of their role in stabilizing the general level of prices, as well as achieve some of the goals of economic macro-level such as growth and unemployment …. etc., have accelerated the industrialized and developing countries alike to give their central banks a large degree of autonomy to enable it to perform its functions in optimal. And Iraq, similar to those countries took the initiative to give the Central Bank of the Iraqi independence by issuing Law No. 56 of 2004, which regulates the work in order to allow the central bank in the performance of its functions and in the design and preparation of monetary policy in accordance with the conditions and requirements  and independent of political circumstances.To achieve the goal of the research is to evaluate the performance of monetary policy in light of the independence of the central bank and prove his hypothesis, which was based on the direction of central banks towards independence lead to the strengthening of the role of monetary policy in the administration of economic activity that  accompanies this role coordination with fiscal policy Search has been divided into three classes, with the first chapter deals with the conceptual framework for the independence of the central bank either second chapter dealing with monetary policy and its role in the Iraqi economy in the third quarter when touched to measure the coefficient of monetary stability and its impact some of the economic indicators     .
