Abstract

Family income was defined as the sum of the incomes of all family members, that mean it consists of the householder income and the income of all members of the family. Economists are used it to get some conclusion about economics healthy of specific city. Because of economic importance of income and it was considered as an important scale to identify the level of life for family, then, it is important to identify the factors affected the income. There, ordinal logistic was to identify the most important factors affected the income, ordinal logistic regression is one of models that used to analysis the relationship between ordinal dependent variable and one or more than one independent variables.

Random stratified sample with (384) person from karbala government and questionnaire are used to calculate the data and fitted this model four types of  ordinal logistic models are used to analysis this data (The Proportional Odds Model (POM), Partial Proportional Odds Model (PPOM), Adjacent Categories Logit Model (ACLM) and Constrained Continuation Ratio Logit Model (CCRLM)) also we use SPSS v.20 and STATA v.14.2 softwares to fit these models.

The results show that when we use the models (The Proportional Odds Model (POM), Partial Proportional Odds Model (PPOM) and Constrained Continuation Ratio Logit Model (CCRLM)) we find that the important factors affected the family income are (number of the employee member in the family, gender of the householder, age of householder,  kind of work of householder and the monthly costs of the entertainment that were spend from the family).

Meanwhile, when we use the(Adjacent Categories Logit Model (ACLM)) the results show  that the important factors are (number of the employee member in the family, ownership of the house and  kind of work of householder and the monthly costs of the entertainment that were spend by the family).
