Abstract
This study aim to determine the impact of banking investment strategies in the market value via financial performance of the bank to identify the strategy that maximizes the value of shareholders, And identify the strengths and weaknesses of The Iraqi banks sample study. the study was conducted in the sector of Iraqi and Jordanian commercial banks listed in the financial markets and included the sample of the study ( 10) Iraqi banks and (10) Jordanian banks for the duration (2006-2015). The study variables were measured by the adoption of financial indicators and statistical equations appropriate for this study.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, hypotheses were formulated and tested by advanced statistical means. The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which was (The results of the financial analysis showed that the decline in the rates of banking investment of Iraqi banks does not reflect much on their profit ability because these banks make profits from activities other than investment, while the decline in the rate of investment in Jordanian banks shows their impact clear in the profits made by these banks). The study concluded with a number of recommendations, the most important of which were (The need for banks to analyze the structure of investment at different levels, in order to
determine the size of financial investments and cash credit, which enhances financial performance, as well as the role of each element of investment banking in increasing the value of the bank).
