Abstract:
The research aims to demonstrate the importance of the internal audit process for the quality management system as it is a basic requirement that the organizations that implement the quality management system (ISO 9001) must do, and since the organization researched is one of the organizations that has a certificate of conformity to the quality management system, so the research came to study the extent of the impact of the process The internal audit of the quality management system (one-dimensional) on the organizational performance in its various dimensions, from which the researcher chose several indicators, in line with the method of research and these indicators are (customer satisfaction, conformity of products to requirements, process performance, continuous improvement) and represent the research community of the affiliated middle refineries company For the Ministry of Oil, as for the research sample, the company (the blending and packing containers department) was chosen in the company because it is the only department in the company that obtained a certificate of conformity to the quality management system, and the researcher relied in his research on the method of case study and the approval of company documents as documented and approved data, and statistical methods were used. (Pearson correlation coefficient to find the relationship between the two variables, and arithmetic means to describe the dimensions of organizational performance and internal auditing using the Statistics for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24), and the researcher reached in his research several results, the most prominent of which is that the internal audit of the quality management system does not affect the organizational performance of the researched organization, that the internal audit process is carried out in accordance with the standards required in the standard specifications. Regarding the organizational performance indicators and maintain their application, as for the recommendations recommended by the researcher, the most important of which was the researcher’s recommendation to the company to pay attention to the internal audit process of the quality management system as it is a basic requirement of the international standard (ISO 9001) and to pay attention to its outputs by providing human cadres who possess the necessary personal qualifications. And their participation in special training programs that qualify them to carry out this process, and the need for the company’s senior management to pay attention to periodic auditing through careful follow-up of the annual internal audit plan and according to the specified timelines, and increase interest in the organizational performance indicator (conformity of products to requirements) by following up cases of non-conformity with requirements and ensuring no Repeatable and emphasizing full adherence to standards and specifications subject And use the principle of reward and punishment to achieve this
