Abstract

Information technology (IT) is now linked directly to society development. It contributes to building new societies. This study is introducing a simplified explanation of the role of IT, and the derived term “digital economy” in improving the standards of living in developing countries, by creating new jobs, new and better markets, better skilled personnel, and new business practices.
