Adding to the scientific and academic success record of the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Ali Khalil, a faculty member at the College of Administration and Economics, achieved fourth place in the national research competition organized by the Federal Integrity Commission under the slogan “Join the Battle Against Corruption.” This was in collaboration with Dr. Ashraf Badr Al-Din, Head of the Tax and Customs Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance.
The achievement was based on a joint research paper entitled:
“Electronic Tax Management Systems (ETMS) and Their Role in Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Federal Integrity Commission’s Procedures in Iraq.”
The research highlighted the role of digital transformation in tax administration as a strategic tool supporting the Federal Integrity Commission’s efforts in corruption prevention and detection by promoting transparency and improving efficiency in regulatory procedures.
Dr. Mohammad Ali Al-Lami, President of the Federal Integrity Commission, praised the winning research papers, affirming that their ideas and insights serve as a “roadmap for combating corruption.” He emphasized the importance of employing these ideas to develop monitoring and preventive tools within state institutions.
The competition witnessed broad participation from researchers and specialists in administrative and regulatory affairs. Only ten research papers were selected as winners from among hundreds of submissions, reflecting the increasing interest of the academic community in combating corruption and advancing public administration.
This achievement underscores the importance of partnerships between academic institutions and government bodies, as well as the role of scientific research in providing innovative solutions to national challenges, particularly in the fields of transparency and anti-corruption.
On this occasion, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Amir Ali Khalil and Dr. Ashraf Badr Al-Din on their scientific excellence, wishing them continued success and distinction in research and knowledge fields.
