Minister of Higher Education Announces the Launch of the Third Edition of the Higher Education Reading Award

100 Million IQD for the Winners – Minister of Higher Education Announces the Launch of the Third Edition of the Reading Award

In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education explained that this edition comes as an extension of the success of the previous two editions of the competition in encouraging interest in reading and enhancing knowledge awareness. He called on all students of public and private universities to actively participate in the award, affirming that the Ministry has prepared a motivating environment to engage with the selected texts from reputable books, in order to achieve the cultural goals of the initiative.

The third edition of the competition is based on reading the book “The Problem of Culture” by the Arab thinker Malek Bennabi, with a total prize value of 100 million Iraqi dinars distributed among the top twenty contestants as follows:

  • 10 million IQD for the first-place winner.
  • 8 million IQD for the second-place winner.
  • 5.5 million IQD for the third-place winner.
  • 4.5 million IQD for each winner from fourth to twentieth place.

The organizing ministerial committee has set the timelines for applying through the competition platform.

Starting from 10 August 2025 until 28 September 2025, the committee has scheduled Saturday, 4 October 2025, at 11:00 a.m. as the date for the electronic test.

The committee draws the attention of all undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as international students continuing their studies in Iraqi universities, that registration on the competition platform must be done using the official university email. This will enable participating students to receive an electronic copy of the book “The Problem of Culture” and the access code for the test at the appropriate time.
