The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course titled “The Role of Cost Management Techniques in Achieving Competitive Advantage,” held from December 9 to 11, 2025, with the participation of several employees from the college’s Accounts Division.
The course lectures were delivered by:
- Prof. Dr. Salah Mahdi Al-Kawaz
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Husam Mohammed
- Dr. Mohammed Jabbar Fashakh
The course aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of modern cost management concepts and their role in helping institutions reduce expenses, improve operational efficiency, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. It also included explanations of the latest methods used in cost measurement and financial analysis, the use of standard costing tools, and applications of information systems in control and planning.
The course featured practical discussions between lecturers and participants on mechanisms for improving work procedures within the Accounts Division, reviewing the major challenges faced by employees in this field, and exploring methods to address them using scientific approaches.
At the conclusion of the course, participants expressed their appreciation for the academic content provided by the lecturers, emphasizing the value of such training programs in developing their skills and enhancing their capabilities to perform their duties with greater efficiency.
