As part of its continuous efforts to develop the scientific and practical skills of its students, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a scientific course entitled “Financial Statement Analysis” for the period 14–16 / 12 / 2025, with wide participation from undergraduate students.
The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Ahmed Hussein Ahmed, who covered both basic and advanced concepts of financial analysis, the importance of financial statements in evaluating institutional performance, measuring operational efficiency, and supporting sound administrative and financial decision-making.
The course addressed several key topics, including:
- Introduction to financial statements, their types, and objectives.
- Horizontal and vertical methods of financial analysis.
- Using financial ratios and indicators to evaluate performance.
- Practical applications of financial statement analysis and linking them to real-world practice.
- The role of financial analysis in planning, control, and decision-making.
The course aimed to develop students’ ability to understand and analyze financial data scientifically, connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application, thereby preparing them for the job market and enhancing their skills in both finance and accounting.
At the conclusion of the course, participants praised the scientific content and its role in enriching their academic knowledge, affirming the college’s commitment to continue organizing such courses to elevate the academic level of its students, in line with its educational mission and development plans.
