The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Organizes a Training Course Titled“Developing Scientific Research Skills”

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a training course titled “Developing Scientific Research Skills” from November 17 to 19, 2025, with the participation of a group of undergraduate students.

The course was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Ali Mohammed Mohsen, who covered the most important scientific foundations students must acquire to prepare rigorous research papers in accordance with approved academic standards.

The course included several key topics, such as:

  • Introducing students to the concept of scientific research and its objectives.
  • How to choose a research problem and formulate hypotheses.
  • Steps for constructing the theoretical framework and reviewing previous studies.
  • Scientific research methodologies and methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Essential skills for writing results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Scientific documentation methods and avoiding plagiarism.

The course also included practical applications and workshops that provided students with the opportunity to learn about modern research tools and methods for organizing references using university-approved software.

The lecturer emphasized the importance of equipping undergraduate students with scientific research skills, as these skills play a major role in developing critical thinking, enhancing analytical and inferential abilities, and preparing students to pursue postgraduate studies or enter the labor market with solid knowledge.

This course comes as part of a series of training programs offered by the College of Administration and Economics to raise students’ scientific competencies and prepare a generation capable of producing genuine knowledge and contributing to the development of the academic environment.
