As part of its continuous efforts to support the academic journey and to prepare students optimally for graduation requirements, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training workshop titled “How to Write a Graduation Research Project”, attended by a large number of final-year students.
The workshop was delivered by:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Khalil Hamid Radi
- Assistant Lecturer Nouf Ali Awad
- Assistant Lecturer Fatima Turki Ne’ma
The aim of the workshop was to equip students with the essential skills required to write their graduation research projects following proper scientific methodologies. The lecturers addressed several key topics, including:
- How to select a research topic and define the research problem
- Research methodology and tools for data collection and analysis
- Fundamentals of writing the theoretical and practical frameworks
- How to properly document sources and references according to accepted academic styles (APA, Chicago, etc.)
- Common mistakes made by students in preparing graduation research projects and how to avoid them
Additionally, practical examples of outstanding previous research projects were presented, with explanations highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement. This provided students with a hands-on understanding of academic requirements.
The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the students, who raised numerous questions regarding formulating research problems, writing chapters, and preparing for research defense, adding a highly interactive and fruitful atmosphere to the event.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the attendees expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the lecturers for the valuable information provided, emphasizing that the workshop represented an important step in supporting them to successfully complete their graduation requirements.
This workshop is part of a series of academic activities that the college is keen to organize to raise the scientific and research competence of its students and to enhance their ability to meet the demands of university and future professional life.
