As part of its ongoing efforts to develop the academic skills of its students and align with updates in the educational system, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a training course entitled:
“Preparing Students to Write Reports and Research Projects within the Bologna System.”
This initiative is part of a series of academic activities aimed at preparing for the gradual implementation of the Bologna educational system in Iraqi universities.
The course aimed to equip students with a solid understanding of the principles and standards for preparing academic reports and research projects in accordance with the Bologna framework, which the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research seeks to gradually adopt. Key topics covered included:
- Selecting appropriate research topics
- Academic writing methodology
- Structuring reports based on the approved format
- International standards for scientific documentation and citation
The course was delivered by a group of distinguished faculty members from the college:
- Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Shammari – Department of Business Administration
- Lecturer Dr. Salah Mahdi Jaber – Department of Statistics
- Asst. Lecturer Suad Jabir Sultan – Department of Economics
The instructors emphasized the importance of early student preparation for the Bologna system’s requirements, particularly the focus on research projects as a core component of student evaluation. This approach aims to strengthen students’ research capabilities, critical thinking, and their ability to transition into professional environments with higher competence after graduation.
The session witnessed active student participation, with great interest in the material presented and numerous questions raised about how to practically apply the training in their upcoming research projects.
At the conclusion of the course, the Dean of the College expressed appreciation for the efforts of the lecturers, affirming the college’s commitment to continuing to support students through more workshops and training sessions that enhance their skills and align with the evolving demands of the higher education system.
