the college held a grand central celebration on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir al-Aghar
on the morning of Monday, 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, corresponding to June 16, 2025.
The event was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students,
in an atmosphere filled with joy and delight across the college grounds,
commemorating this significant Islamic occasion,
which marks the appointment of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)
as the guardian and successor to the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family)
at Ghadir Khumm.
The celebration began with the recitation of blessed verses from the Holy Qur’an,
followed by Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s honorable martyrs,
and then the playing of the Iraqi national anthem.
Dean Dr. Al-Husseini delivered a keynote speech on the occasion,
emphasizing the historical and spiritual significance of Eid al-Ghadir in Islamic heritage,
describing it as a day of loyalty and devotion to the authentic Muhammadan path,
and praising the Iraqi society for holding steadfast to the values and principles this day embodies.
The celebration also included poetic and chanted performances
that expressed deep love and allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him),
alongside a video presentation highlighting the events of Ghadir and its importance
in establishing the principle of righteous leadership in the Islamic nation.
At the conclusion of the event, sweets and symbolic gifts were distributed to attendees
as a gesture of happiness and joy for this blessed occasion.
Prayers were offered asking Allah Almighty to return this day to the Islamic Ummah
with goodness, prosperity, and blessings,
and to protect Iraq and its people from all harm.
