Prof. Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized an educational seminar entitled:

“Active Participation in the Upcoming Parliamentary Elections”

The seminar was held in collaboration with the Independent High Electoral Commission / Karbala Office at the college hall.

The event was attended by several faculty members and students of the college, representatives of the Independent High Electoral Commission, as well as staff and individuals interested in electoral affairs.

The seminar began with a speech by the Dean of the College, who emphasized the importance of raising electoral awareness among students and youth, highlighting their pivotal role in shaping the country’s future through responsible and informed participation in the electoral process. He noted that universities serve as intellectual and cultural platforms that help consolidate democratic concepts.

Following this, representatives of the Electoral Commission delivered a detailed presentation covering key organizational procedures for the upcoming parliamentary elections, mechanisms for updating voter records, voting regulations, and addressed attendees’ questions regarding the technical and legal aspects of the electoral process.

The seminar concluded by stressing the importance of promoting a culture of electoral participation among university students and the local community, given its significant role in strengthening the democratic experience and building state institutions on solid foundations. Representatives of the Electoral Commission were also honored in recognition of their cooperation in the success of the seminar.
