Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, the college organized an educational seminar titled “Al-Warith International Foundation for Cancer Treatment and the Al-Warith Fund for Supporting Cancer Patients.” The event was held at Sayyid Al-Shuhada Hall (peace be upon him) with the attendance of several faculty members and students.
The seminar aimed to highlight the humanitarian and service-oriented role of the Al-Warith International Foundation for Oncology, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), which provides advanced and free medical services to cancer patients in Iraq using state-of-the-art global technologies in radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgical treatment.
The seminar also introduced the Al-Warith Fund for Supporting Cancer Patients, one of the leading initiatives in humanitarian and social work. The fund contributes to providing financial and moral support to patients and their families, covering treatment costs, travel expenses, and urgent living needs.
The event included an informative presentation delivered by representatives of the foundation, explaining the fund’s goals, mechanisms of operation, and potential areas of collaboration with academic institutions—especially in spreading health awareness among students and encouraging volunteer work to support cancer patients.
At the end of the seminar, participants expressed their appreciation for the tremendous efforts made by the Holy Shrine and the Al-Warith International Foundation in alleviating the suffering of cancer patients. They emphasized the importance of involving students in such initiatives to strengthen their sense of social responsibility.
