Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences organized a training course titled “Challenges and Opportunities of Applying Artificial Intelligence in the Banking Sector,” held from October 5 to 7, 2025, with the participation of undergraduate students from the department.
The course was delivered by Lecturer Zahraa Kazem Majeed and covered important topics related to the role of artificial intelligence in developing banking services and improving the efficiency of financial operations. It also addressed the challenges faced by banking institutions in adopting these technologies, such as cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory readiness.
The course aimed to familiarize students with the latest technological trends in the banking sector and to raise their awareness of the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into financial and banking operations in ways that enhance innovation, transparency, and digital transformation within financial institutions.
At the conclusion of the course, participants expressed their great benefit from the topics discussed, confirming that such courses contribute to preparing students to keep pace with modern developments in the world of banking and financial technology.
