has published a scientific paper entitled “The Role of Electronic Payment Methods in Enhancing Financial Inclusion” in the Central European Economic Journal, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in Scopus, with an impact factor of 1, classified in Q3, and issued by the Faculty of Economic Sciences – University of Warsaw, Poland.
The study addressed the key challenges facing the implementation of electronic payment systems in Iraq, such as low awareness of the banking system, high poverty rates, weak technical infrastructure, and economic and political instability. It aimed to analyze the impact of electronic payment methods on achieving comprehensive financial inclusion.
The research team based their analysis on 958 survey responses collected from employees across various sectors in Karbala Governorate, using the PLS-SEM statistical analysis model. The results revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between electronic payment methods and financial inclusion, confirming that electronic payments help integrate individuals into the formal banking system due to their security and transparency.
The study recommended the need to strengthen trust in the formal banking system through greater governmental and institutional support, and to develop the digital infrastructure to achieve financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in Iraq.
