The Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini, inaugurated the annual five-a-side football championship organized by the college, amid a vibrant and enthusiastic sporting atmosphere that reflects the college’s commitment to developing students’ skills and enhancing their abilities in various fields.

The opening ceremony took place on the college’s sports fields, in the presence of a number of faculty members, staff, and students. The championship witnessed the participation of all academic departments’ teams, showcasing a spirit of positive competition among students and highlighting their eagerness to actively engage in extracurricular activities.

The tournament was organized under the supervision of the Student Activities Unit, represented by its head, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Sabeeh Lafta, who emphasized that the aim of the championship is to promote teamwork, encourage students to practice sports, and provide a balanced university environment that combines academic pursuits with purposeful activities.

The competitions will continue according to a pre-arranged schedule and will conclude with the crowning of the winning teams and the honoring of participants, as part of the college’s efforts to support student activities and enhance the athletic movement within the university.
