Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics and the Department of Economics, an awareness seminar titled “Extremism: Its Roots, Risks, and Ways to Address It” was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with the participation of students from the Department of Economics.
A distinguished group of faculty members and specialists delivered the seminar, including:

- Lecturer Firas Abdulamir Isa
- Asst. Lecturer Huda Mahdi Ali
The seminar covered several important topics, including the concept of extremism, its intellectual, social, and economic roots, and its negative impacts on individuals and society. It also highlighted the effects of extremism on social stability and development. The presenters discussed ways to prevent and address extremism through enhancing intellectual awareness, promoting values of tolerance and moderation, and emphasizing the role of educational institutions in building a conscious generation capable of confronting misguided ideas.
The seminar witnessed active engagement from the students through questions and contributions, enriching the discussions and deepening the understanding of the topic.
