College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Organizes Training Course: “From the Classroom to the Boardroom: The Student’s Journey in Decision-Making”

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course titled “From the Classroom to the Boardroom: The Student’s Journey in Decision-Making”, as part of its programs aimed at developing students’ abilities and refining their leadership and managerial skills. The course was held from December 8–12, 2025, with wide participation from students of the college, the primary target group for this initiative.

The lectures were delivered by a distinguished team of specialists:

  • Prof. Dr. Hussein Harija Al-Hasnawi
  • Dr. Yasser Mahmoud Fahd
  • Asst. Lecturer Ali Mohammed Mohsen

The course included both theoretical and practical modules, focusing on preparing students for post-graduation life and linking academic knowledge with practical realities. Key topics included decision-making concepts, administrative leadership, and strategies for transitioning from academic settings to decision-making positions in various institutions. The course also addressed the importance of strategic thinking, teamwork, responsibility, and building a leadership personality capable of facing workplace challenges.

The course aimed to enhance students’ awareness of their future roles in public and private institutions, develop their ability to make sound decisions, and equip them to contribute effectively to administrative and economic development.

At the conclusion of the course, organizers emphasized the importance of continuing such scientific and training activities, which help develop students’ skills and strengthen their practical readiness, aligning with the mission of the University of Karbala and the College of Administration and Economics in serving the community and nurturing human capital.
