Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Karbala, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini, the college—through the Student Activities Division—organized a cultural festival to commemorate the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq Al-Sadr and his two sons (may their sacred souls be sanctified).
The festival witnessed wide academic and student attendance. It began with speeches recalling the distinguished life of the martyr Al-Sadr and his pioneering role in upholding the truth and confronting injustice. The speakers emphasized that commemorating this occasion represents a renewal of commitment to the values and principles for which these great figures sacrificed their lives.
The festival also coincided with expressions of solidarity adopted by the college, as members of the academic community expressed their strong condemnation of crimes targeting symbols of Islam and the Islamic school of thought, including the targeting of Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God protect him). They affirmed the unity of the ethical and humanitarian stance in rejecting aggression and the brutal crimes targeting Muslim peoples.
This festival was organized by the Student Activities Division to strengthen cultural and religious awareness among students and to connect the younger generation with their national and religious figures who paved the path of freedom and dignity with their sacrifices. The festival included various segments highlighting the reformist thought of the martyr Sayyid Al-Sadr and its impact on society.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees praised the college’s organizational efforts and its commitment to holding activities that reinforce spiritual and national values, emphasizing the importance of drawing lessons from the lives of martyrs in building a prosperous future based on justice and knowledge.
